Reflections on Level 1 Team Building Programme with External Partners 2025
Strong teams are the backbone of every successful organisation. Recognising this, the IBS Centre of Excellence (COE) continues to support organisations across Papua New Guinea through its Level 1 Team Building Programme, designed to strengthen leadership, improve collaboration, and promote a positive workplace culture.
Throughout 2025, the IBS Centre of Excellence partnered with several organisations to deliver practical and engaging team-building programmes that helped participants develop stronger communication skills, build trust, and work more effectively together.

Papua New Guinea Department of Transport
In October 2025, the IBS COE delivered the Level 1 Team Building Programme to staff from the Papua New Guinea Department of Transport in two batches.
- Batch 1 completed the programme from 2nd to 4th October 2025 at Koitaki Country Club.
- Batch 2 participated from 23rd to 25th October 2025 at the IBS Centre of Excellence, Mt. Eriama.

United Finance Limited (UFL)
The IBS COE also hosted ten (10) participants fromUnited Finance Limited (UFL) for a three-day Level 1 Team Building Programme from 20th to 22nd July 2025 at the IBS Centre of Excellence, Mt. Eriama.

National Gaming Control Board (NGCB)
The National Gaming Control Board (NGCB), a long-term client of the IBS Centre of Excellence, participated in three batches of the programme between June and July 2025, with a total of 57 participants.
- Batch 1: 18 participants (27th to 29th June)
- Batch 2: 22 participants (4th to 6th July)
- Batch 3: 17 participants (11th to 13th July)
Programme Outcomes

The Level 1 Team Building Programme focuses on key workplace competencies that help individuals and teams perform more effectively. These include:
- Understanding personal strengths and areas for improvement
- Appreciating the unique abilities of team members
- Strengthening communication and interpersonal skills
- Developing leadership and motivation skills
- Improving planning, organizing, and time management
- Enhancing decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Building conflict resolution and risk management strategies

Through interactive exercises and group activities, participants learn how to communicate clearly, collaborate effectively, and work toward shared organisational goals.
Director for Corporate Affairs at NGCB, Ms. Rosinah Wari, shared her experience with the programme:

Her feedback reflects the mission of the IBS Centre of Excellence—to provide a supportive and dynamic learning environment where teams can strengthen relationships and develop skills that improve workplace performance.
Investing in People and Workplace Culture

Team building a set of activities with a strategic investment in people and organisational culture. The Level 1 Team Building Programme helps participants develop trust, improve leadership skills, strengthen communication, and build a more collaborative workplace environment.

The programme is delivered onsite at Mt. Eriama through outbound training programmes, allowing organisations to step outside the normal work environment and participate in immersive learning experiences that encourage teamwork and personal growth.
With continued collaboration and shared learning, IBS COE looks forward to building stronger organisations and lasting partnerships in 2026 as well.
